OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, August 3, 2024 5-7 pm
Swamp is an abstract acrylic painting on an 11x14 inch canvas with a semi gloss varnish. This paintings deep purples and dark greens represent darkness and murky energy that I found lingering in my psyche. This painting was a way of expelling this energy.
The flowing blues and vibrant oranges mix together to create an intense and vibrant painting eliciting the warmth and mixing of a sunset. This painting is so vibrant the colors are so rich and deep and it has an energy that just draws you in. Sunsets and the warmth and colors they create are such a magnificent thing and I wanted to try to capture that in this piece. The movement is in sweeping arcs not squiggles like most of my work does giving more emphasis to the color. Blues bleed into magentas bleed into oranges and back into blues to create a cascading gradient. I always see sunsets as a way to end a moment, a beautiful burst of color before the sun sets and the confidence and gratitude for the fact that it will come again tomorrow. I think the fleeting nature and intensity of sunsets allows me to reflect on prioritizing being in the present moment and acknowledging all that is there within me now.
as a queer, non-binary person my identity is something that matters a lot to me, in this painting I wanted to explore the depths of my identity specifically within my gender and sexuality. I was at a point in my journey where I was really proud of who I was and had so much love for the versions of myself I was before. This painting was my acceptance of myself and celebration of who I am and acceptance of the fact that even if no one else fully understands, I do.

This painting is varnished, varnishing helps keep the colors vibrant and prevents fading. The edges of the painting are also painted to give it an even more completed look. The canvas is easily mountable to any wall using a nail or a hook.
These paintings mean a lot to me and I am very excited to share them with you.
As a kid running through the woods and trailing paths and water brought me so much joy. This is still something I love doing finding the little streams of water around the woods. With a deep green background and blue streaks trailing throughout this painting represents the wonder of the woods and all that is to be discovered there.

This painting is 12 x 24 inches on a stretched canvas.
The edges will be painted and the entire painting will be varnished with a semi gloss varnish to preserve the vibrancy of colors
The natural flow of water is always something that has fascinated me and my movements within my pieces tend to be very fluid and very influenced by water as one of my primary tools is a spray bottle. The dripping and creation of multiple streams reminded me of the river I spend a lot of time, branching off into multiple streams and flows of waters rivers are symbolic of always moving forward and even if you are in the same spot as before the water is not the same.

This painting Is 30x40 inches. Painted with bright and vibrant colors it is inspired by my recent trip to turks and Caicos. I wanted to emulate the energy, vibrance, and friendliness I felt there from all the locals. As well as the beautiful underwater landscapes of coral and fish.
